Boks confirm All Blacks’ Cape Town return

The Springboks home schedule for 2024 has been formally revealed by SA Rugby and it features two Test matches against Ireland and a matchup with the All Blacks in Cape Town.

Old rivals New Zealand, currently rated third in the world, return for Test matches in Johannesburg and Cape Town, while the season is ignited in spectacular manner in Pretoria and Durban by the growing rivalry with Ireland, currently ranked second in the world.

The final Test match of the Boks’ July schedule is against Portugal, an up-and-coming country. The venue will be announced soon. This will be South Africa’s first international matchup against Os Lobos, also known as the Wolves.

When Argentina visits the Lowveld to wrap off the Castle Lager Rugby Championship in September for the first time in eight years, rugby fans will also be able to relive the 2022 Mbombela Test-week experience.

Ticket sales for the Tests will open in the New Year from the service provider of the hosting union.

Saturday, 20 July: SA vs. Portugal (venue TBC)
Saturday, 31 August: SA vs. New Zealand (Ellis Park, Johannesburg)
Saturday, 7 September: SA vs. New Zealand (DHL Stadium, Cape Town)
Saturday, 28 September: SA vs. Argentina (Mbombela Stadium, Nelspruit)
